Road Trip from Bengaluru to Yercaud

 During the Good Friday weekend [April 1st week], we wanted to move out and needed to be back before Sunday as our son had his culminating ceremony after his 3 years in Montessori.

As we were planning to take out our Cheetah for a roaring drive, one of my acquaintances called me that he has started his camping business in Yercaud and that I should visit it once. And Bingo the plan was made as Yercaud is 240 km away from Bengaluru where we stay, and the roads are also awesome.

We packed our bags the night before, and on the 7th around 5:30 we left for Yercaud and reached at 10:30 with 2 stops of 10 mins & 30 mins [At Aahaa Family Restaurant] respectively. This restaurant is on the route itself, so no detour.

* Route Taken: Electronic City -> Hosur -> Krishnagiri -> Karimangalam -> Bommidi -> Poomarathoor -> Kolagur -> Karadiyoor -> Wild Troupe. Route

* Total Distance: 480 km [To & Fro]

* Trip Dates: 7th & 8th

* Mileage: 15.2 & 14.6 [AC on full blast as the temperature is soaring in TN at this time of the year]

* Hair Pin Bends: 19

* Stay: Wildtroupe Camping. 

* Places of Interest: Boating, Piku Park, Poppy Hills, Grange Adventures, Cave Temple, Annamalaiyar Temple [it is not included in any cab package, its 5 km away from Yercaud city center towards pagoda point]

* Food: GreenTop [For Thai & Chinese], Hungry Potato, Shevaroys [no-frills Punjabi food].  

One can easily stay 2-3 hrs in Annamalaiyar temple, as the temple is on one of the highest peaks in Yercaud, and doubles downs as a scenic point.

Greetings Fooodies..!! I was talking with some of my office colleagues, and came to know that many of them are yearning of "Original Chaats"... Greetings friends..!! After a long time, I am active on my blog with some information on newly introduced Hop On Hop Off Bus sight-seeing service introduced by Bengalooru BMTC. This service (introduced on the lines of HOHO London ) is one of a kind in India, other cities being Delhi & Mysore (this is what I know). So coming back to point, this service (as it's name says) is Hop On Hop Off service which takes you around 20+ famous landmarks of Bengalooru ; the main point of this service is you can get down at the landmark at your will and board the bus again (from the same landmark) every 30-45 minutes. Technically speaking, BMTC has re-launched these service around May-June 2014 with a fleet of 7 Multi-Axle volvo buses which are fully air conditioned. The bus starts from Kempegowda Bus Stop locally known as "Majestic" @ 8:30, with other buses after 30 minutes each (i.e., 8:30, 9:00, 9:30, & so on till 7-8 in evening). For more info
