My Me-Time
This 20th,
I was relatively free and was getting bored; also HBO, Living Foodz & Epic
were also of no help so a wild and (and very close-to-my-heart-feeling) ran
across me: Prepare some delicacy for My Better Half J
I
decided to surprise her with PineApple cake with Vanila icecream.
And in
no time, I was up and running; gathering/buying items for PineApple cake (In
fact, round the year you can find dollops of vanilla ice cream in our fridge,
so buying ice cream wasn’t a requirement).
So, for
Novices or Adventurous-Souls-Who-Wanna-Impress-Their-Wife with their culinary
skills; here’s a brief of items requirement:
ð
Baking Powder: ½ Tea Spoon
ð
Baking Soda: ¼ Tea Spoon
ð
Curd: 2 TeaSpoon
Why Curd?? We are vegetarians so, for a cake: curd
does the same thing as Egg, i.e. giving richness, or in layman terms you can
say for acting like an “Adhesive”.
ð Maida: 2 Cups
ð Clarified butter: ½ Cup
ð Custard Powder: ½ Cup
ð Milk: 2 Cups
ð Boora/Powdered Sugar: 1 Cup; I would say “Swad-Anusaar” ;)
ð PineApple essence: 4 drops
Your
ultimate-delicacy-for-impressing-your-girl (in my case: wife) is ready J
ð Maida: 2 Cups
ð Clarified butter: ½ Cup
ð Custard Powder: ½ Cup
ð Milk: 2 Cups
ð Boora/Powdered Sugar: 1 Cup; I would say “Swad-Anusaar” ;)
ð PineApple essence: 4 drops
And most important item: microwave
;)
- Making:
1) Take milk, and mix boora/powdered
sugar in it.
2) Now, with help of “Sieve” or “Channi”; slowly
add mixture of Maida & Custard powder to concoction of milk and sugar.
3) Now, add drops of essence + curd +
baking soda + baking powder + clarified butter
4) Also, side by side, brush the
micro-wave utensil with butter
Why???
So that cake doesn’t gets stuck with the utensil J
5) With help of hand-held mixer; mix
the concoction once again + giving a texture/richness to the cake.
Tip: Don’t use grinder/mixer for more than 10
seconds.
I would
say, this only takes 10 minutes, and 99% of your work (I would term it as
Hard-Work) is done.
v
Take the microwave utensil, which you had already brushed with butter
-> pour the concoction/mixture in it -> leave it for 20-25 seconds so
that it gets grounded to the utensil -> add some cherries/tutti-fruity on
top
v
Start the “Microwave” with “Microwave” mode -> and leave the
concoction for “2” minutes.
v
Take out the “Semi-Liquid” cake and add some tutti-fruity again
Why??? In semi liquid stage, your tutti-fruity
won’t go deep inside the cake; and will be “Good Presentation”
v
Again place the utensil in “Microwave” mode for “3” minutes; and take
out the utensil.
v
Keep this at room-temperature for 5 minutes, and then place it in
fridge.
- Serving:
After dicing the cake in small
pieces:
v Place 2 pieces in bowl
-> Add 2 tea-spoon “Rose” syrup on both the pieces of cake -> Place a
dollop of ice cream on top of that -> and then place a “Cherry” on it.
Tan-Tana…
